The agreement between you and us, in plain language.
Skynat Live, Skynat Camera and Skynat Remote are made by Skynat, operated by Peter Salanje, trading as Skynat, in South Africa. "We" and "us" on this page mean Skynat; "you" means the person or organisation using the software.
Skynat Live is licensed, not sold. A paid plan gives you a licence to install and use the application for as long as the plan runs — the year or the month you paid for — and it renews when you renew. A trial is a licence for the trial period only.
Use it commercially, and charge your clients for the work you produce with it — that is what it is for.
The licence is for your use, on the number of computers your plan allows. Do not resell it, rent it out, share your key publicly or let others use your licence. If you need licences for a team, talk to us.
Skynat Camera is free to download and use with Skynat Live. Skynat Remote is used under these terms and the plan or credits you have.
Skynat Live, Skynat Camera, Skynat Remote, the Max pack and everything in them — the software and its source code, its design, screens, graphics, sets, sounds, models, documentation and this website — belong to Skynat and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property law. The licence gives you the right to use them, not to own them.
The names Skynat, Skynat Live, Skynat Camera and Skynat Remote, the Skynat emblem and logo, and "Powered by Jesus" with the logo are our trademarks. Do not use them, or anything confusingly similar, for your own products or services, or in a way that suggests we endorse you.
You may not copy, modify, translate or make works based on the software; reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or try to extract its source code, models or graphics, except where the law allows it regardless of this agreement; remove or change copyright, trademark or licence notices; get around licence checks, trials or the Max pack; or use the software, or what you learn from taking it apart, to build a competing product.
Sets, graphics and other content that come with the software are for use in your productions made with Skynat Live — not for resale or redistribution on their own.
If you want to build Skynat technology, names or content into your own product, resell or white-label it, or use it in a way these terms do not allow, you need our written licence first. Such licences are usually paid by a fee or a royalty. Write to us and we will talk.
Using our software, names or technology beyond this licence without that agreement is an infringement of our rights, and we may ask for it to stop and for compensation, including a reasonable royalty for the use already made.
Everything you create with Skynat Live is yours. We claim no rights over your recordings, your streams, your graphics or anything else that comes out of the software.
You are responsible for having the right to broadcast what you broadcast — music licensing, performance rights, permission to film people. The software does not check and cannot check.
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve our products without owing you anything for it. Thank you — many features started that way.
Skynat Live includes open-source components (for example FFmpeg, Electron and the speech model). They remain under their own licences, which come with the app; nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
That the software does what this website says it does. If it does not, that is a defect and the refund policy applies.
We will keep developing it and shipping updates, and the updates released while your plan runs are included in what you paid.
That your event will go perfectly. Live production depends on your computer, your network, your cameras and your operators, and we control none of those.
Our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months. We are not liable for a lost broadcast, a missed recording or business consequences arising from either. Back up anything that matters. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
You can stop using the software whenever you like, and your plan simply runs to the end of the period you paid for. We can end a licence that is being redistributed, used against these terms or used to attack our systems, and we will tell you why if we do.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and its courts have jurisdiction. If we change these terms we will update this page; changes apply from your next renewal.
