Best software for song lyrics on screen in church (and on the live stream)

Late lyrics and wrong verses break the moment — in the room and online. What to look for in lyrics software, and why it belongs in the same app as your cameras.

Lyrics are where most church streams fall apart. The words come up late, the operator jumps to the wrong verse, or the screen in the room shows one thing while the stream shows another.

Why it goes wrong

Many churches run lyrics in one program (on one computer) and the stream in another. Two operators, two screens, and no shared idea of which verse comes next. Every handover between them is a chance to be late.

What good lyrics software does

  • Follows the song's real order: verse, chorus, bridge — not just pages.
  • Shows the next slide before it goes up.
  • Sends clean lyrics to the room's projector and a lower-third style to the stream.
  • Imports your songs and respects your CCLI licence reporting.
  • Is fast enough that one operator can run lyrics and cameras together.

The best setup for most churches

Dedicated presentation programs are powerful, but they add a second computer and a second operator. Skynat Live puts lyrics, scripture and PowerPoint or Keynote slides in the same application as your cameras and stream, with CCLI lyrics support and projector outputs for the room. One operator, one screen, and the room and the stream always show the same verse.

Skynat Live puts all of this in one application for Windows and Mac: $99 a year or $19 a month, everything included, nothing renews on its own. You can download it and try it before a real broadcast at skynat.live.

Questions people ask

Do I need a CCLI licence to show lyrics on a live stream?

Showing lyrics in the room needs a CCLI copyright licence; streaming the music generally also needs a streaming licence. Check the current CCLI terms for your country.

Can one person run lyrics and the live stream?

Yes, if lyrics live in the same application as the cameras. Switching between two programs is what makes it hard.
